Phew. Life has been busy! And of course, this past weekend was the first quiet weekend I’ve had in forever, and I immediately get sick. So typical. But then, it did force me to have the quietest of weekends, wrapped up in a duvet on the couch watching many an episode of Ru Pauls Drag Race and getting enthralled in Black Mirror. Life has been a bit stressful as of late, so having some time out was just what I need.
We are off to Amsterdam next weekend of a long weekend city break which I’m very excited about. It will soon be my birthday in November then we jet off to Australia in less than 2 months. It’s all gonna be busy from here out! Now onto some wonderful bits from the past couple weeks.
Seeing Dad in Paris
Last weekend I jumped on the Eurostar and headed to Paris for a whirlwind 36 hour trip. I went to meet my dad who had been in Paris all week for work. Not only was it totally lovely to see him, but we also managed to pack in so much in a short period of time! We did an awesome food tour, saw the sights and climbed to the top of Montmatre and the Sacre Coeur. Full post coming up next week.
I passed my exam!
As mentioned in my last post, I went a little quiet as it was the run up to my first exam. I’m doing a finance certificate which is made up of 4 papers. This was my first one so I was feeling a wee bit nervous of it and wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of how close the exam would be compared to the mock exams I had done. Well luckily, it was pretty on par and I passed!! It feels like a big weight off the shoulders and now I feel ready to get into the next one hopefully before the end of the year. Plus, I then got to celebrate with a lovely meal out with Paul!
Getting some Christmas shopping done
I know it’s only October and I refuse to get into the festive season just yet. But, I need to have all my presents sorted pretty much by December 1st as I need to take them up to Manchester before we go away on the 12th. Plus, I don’t really want to have to worry about Christmas pressies in Aus, I’d rather have them all sorted! That means, I need to start really early. So I’ve bought about 3 pressies so far, I do love buying gifts for everyone and it’s nice to start checking the list off.
Last weekend after Paris, I headed to Drake and Morgan to meet some of the bangarang girls for brunch. With life being so hectic lately, I haven’t seen these gals in too long and it was awesome to have a catch up. Can’t beat having an awesome London crew.
A new dressing gown
My winter cozies up to this point were still my old high school hoodie. And although I love it, I wanted something else I could lounge about it that made me feel a little less like a slob. When I was wandering through Next last week, I felt some of the dressing gowns and they felt amazing! So I did a little online shopping and picked up a navy and wool dressing gown which I’m now obsessed with. How did I live without an amazing dressing gown before this?! It was only £26 too so if you are debating one, I definitely recommend grabbing one for winter!
Milky Bar Mousse
I’ve been having a white chocolate obsession as of late. I especially love the mousse as it’s like a delicious pot of creamy mousse and it’s 85 calories so I pretty much feel like I can have it for dessert every day.
So there we have it, a few happy bits and bobs. I’m linking in with the lovely Sally and Michelle as always. There is a big bunch of us writing wonderful Wednesdays now so be sure to check out the #wonderfulwednesday hashtag on twitter and get reading!
What’s something wonderful from your last week?
