I recently picked up the Benefit Fake Up Concealer in light. If you haven’t seen this then it is concealer designed for under eyes, it combines a concealer in the middle with a hydrating eye cream around the outside with vitamin E. It says it ‘hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines’.
Now I don’t know about you, but my under eyes cause me a bit of stress! When I’m tired or run down they can be super dark and those creases can deepen and age me. I’m pretty happy with the rest of my skin most of the time but no matter what I do – those bags are here to stay!
When I saw this concealer I thought it was such a good idea – any extra eye cream I can get is much appreciated! I saw this in duty free and as I had a bit of Aussie currency to use up – I grabbed it! It is sold for £18.50 here in the UK. So, the essential question – Are my bags concealed?
The concealer goes on quite smooth – as the moisture stick is super hydrating. However, as the moisture stick is around the outside, I think I’m used to a stick which is totally pigmented so I kind of put it in the wrong place at first – you need to compensate for the fact that the concealer doesn’t cover the whole product or you will be drawing questionable lines on your face! Once on it was easy to blend out with my fingers and was able to be built up.
I’m kind of on the fence about how I feel about this – I really like the feel of it, my eyes felt like they had had a huge drink of water! However, I felt it gave quite a greasy/shiny finish which is not usually what I like. It did do a good job of covering my bags but I think that it may need a powder over it to proper set and stop it looking a bit shiny. As you can see in my selfies below, I am super jetlagged so the bags are at their full strength –
You can see a bit of shine, especially in the corners in the after (I’m only wearing the concealer) – as I’m not a huge fan of powder I think that it is a bit of a pain.
- Super moisturising on my under eyes
- Easily applied and blended
- Good texture and cover
- Good lasting ability
- Didn’t settle in any creases once blended.
- Left a shiny/dewy finish
- For a product which is only able to be used under the eyes, it is quite pricey!
So, are my bags concealed?
Yes they are! I do like this product and will keep using it – if it reduces them over time then even better, and I will report back on that. However, will I repurchase? I’m not so sure.
Have you used Fake Up Concealer? What’s your favourite concealer? I still don’t have a total favourite so always on the hunt!
