JC Wears: Debenhams Christmas Jumper Party!
Christmas jumpers are still a novelty to me. Obviously in New Zealand, it is getting into summer for Christmas so we are taking layers off – jumpers do not factor! But now this will be my third (oh god that went quickly!) Christmas in the UK and the second year that I fully embrace all things Christmas. Last year I went to good old Primark for my Christmas jumper, but this year I was invited to the Debenhams Christmas Jumper Party and of course I could not say no! Christmas jumpers, mulled wine, nibbles, goodie bags and bloggers are the perfect of combinations.
I picked my Christmas jumper* before I headed out so it was waiting for me for when I got there. I wanted something a bit more subtle but still adorable for my jumper this year, so I picked one with a giant polar bear face and I am in love! I immediately popped it on, then spent all evening getting a bit stressed I would spill red wine all down it. (I have since been wearing it constantly, even when writing this blog post!)
I of course rocked a red lip as is needed for anything Christmas related. Along with my amazing jumper they had lots of the other jumpers on display, all very cutely dressed up like reindeers. Along with these, they also had a nail artist doing some Christmas manicures, and lots of delicious Christmas nibbles (anything brie, cranberry or with salmon are ideal).
I got to catch up with the lovely Katy from Little Miss Katy (one of my all time favourite bloggers, so if you don’t follow her already then get over there!) and meet lots of lovely new bloggers. It is always nice to hang out with bloggers as they understand all the ins and outs and the time it actually takes to write a blog so we can all relate!
After devouring the snacks and the mulled wine, they also ran a little raffle and a ‘guess how many snakes in the jar’ game which are always fun. I was also very lucky in that I got an epic gift bag* to go along with my jumper. First off, how cute is the bag and the little tag? It is had my name and blog name on which was the nicest of touches.
Then inside were a variety of lovely treats. First a giant angel advent calendar which is great as I don’t have one so I will definitely be using this next year. I also received some touch screen gloves which are most desperately needed now the weather has turned, a cute coin purse, a bracelet from Phase 8, a mini yankee candle and of course a lot of delicious chocolate (how cute is the lindt reindeer?!). The best bit was what I won in the raffle which is a paint your own bauble kit! I will definitely be doing that this weekend, get a bit of craft on which I do not do enough these days.
So overall I had a lovely little outing after work on a Thursday. One of my big blog goals is to try and go to some more blogging events (and I have another little meet up coming up on the 18th) as it is so nice to meet like minded people and get to do some really enjoyable things. We were also all featured on the Daily Debrief! Thanks so much to Debenhams and the lovely Alina for inviting me and for all the fab gifts – all opinions are of course my own!
What Christmas jumper are you wearing this year?
