Ooph. It’s been a couple of weeks of ups and down. Life is good, the sun is shining. However, I have a pain of a wisdom tooth infection and after an emergency dentist appointment, now very highly likely that I’ll have to get my bottom two out in the coming months. And of course, I’m not very good with these things which has led to a lot of crying and angst, and even though I *know* that it will be fine, slightly uncomfortable and with a few days off work, I always build it up in my own head.
Then of course, I feel guilty about getting so worked up about it. Why can’t I be one of those people who just deals and gets on with things and doesn’t require hours of anxiety for a simple thing which a whole heap of people get done everyday?! Ugh anyway, now after that little rant I’m going to keep popping some antibiotics and try and put the whole thing to the back of my mind until the time comes. Now, let’s distract myself with some more positive things!
Finally getting my hair done. Getting my hair done was quite the mission this time with some really average customer service from one hairdresser resulting in my walking out without getting it done. I managed to book in elsewhere though and am very happy with it – I haven’t had it cut in forever and now it’s so much manageable than before!
Chicken Shop. We headed out to Chicken Shop last Friday to catch up with Sam and man, the chicken was SO good. That smokey sauce was the best to dip it in, I just wanted to steal a bottle and take it home for me. Definitely heading back there when I need a chicken fix.
Manchester. I went to Manchester this weekend which was lovely. It’s always nice to get out of London and for once, it actually was sunny!
Afternoon tea at Claridges. I’ll have a full post up on this one soon but we went to Claridges for afternoon tea last weekend and it was SO good. Just the perfect traditional afternoon tea in a gorgeous setting. This is actually the first afternoon tea I’ve done all year and now I’m very determined to get some more in the diary in the coming months.
Game of Thrones. I am jumping back on the hype train! I did start watching game of thrones years ago when it first started on TV. But I then fell out with it in the 2nd season as I just got a bit sick of it. Well, now I’ve just heard too many good things about the later seasons so I’m going to pick it up again and give it a go. I’ve finished the first season and racing through the second, what with the whole tooth pain as I haven’t wanted to do much anyway.
Pub Gardens. What with all the sunshine we’ve been having, it has been the best to be able to sit outside with a big ginger beer and lounge in the rays. I’ve been trying to make the most of it and have been walking everywhere too. Even though it did mean a couple of nights of no sleep, it was definitely worth it.
Instagram. I finally feel like I’m getting back into Instagram, all this sunshine and flowers definitely makes it a whole lot easier to keep up a bit more of a bright and colourful feed.
Wedding Dresses. We went for the first go at finding my sisters wedding dress on Sunday. It was such an awesome experience with our grandmas and even skyping in my mum from Australia. The dress has not yet been found but we did get a good idea at the types of styles she likes so the hunting will continue in London!
Time at the Spa. I went to the spa on Saturday and it was totally what I needed. We went to The Village in Hyde and I didn’t have many expectations but the treatments were amazing! The best I’ve had in quite awhile – Espa facial and a great relaxing back massage which worked on getting that tension out. Also got to have a good dip in a pool and in the jacuzzi too. Can I do this every weekend please?!
