It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And it does honestly feel like that at the moment. London has been FULL of Christmas cheer and I’ve been totally loving the run up to Christmas. I can’t believe it’s only 5 days away!
I’m very much looking forward to 10 days off over the Christmas and New Year. I won’t be doing much – hanging around Manchester and London but that’s just what is needed! Now, onto some festivities from the past couple of weeks:
Cooking Christmas dinner! Last weekend we had our pals Sam and Geoff over for our yearly festive get together! They made the most amazing hummingbird cake and I did the mains of spinach and butternut squash and a festive wreath stuffed full of brie. It was delish and definitely gave me even more festive feels!
Getting creative with Instagram. I’m doing Me and Orlas Gloom and Glow instagram course at the moment and loooving it! It’s really made me 1, actually take and post photos through winter, and 2, really mix up my photos and do some creative pieces. Photography doesn’t come naturally to me, I’m more of a words and logic kinda gal so stoking my creative side has been lovely.
A Christmas quiz. Instead of a Christmas party at work, we have a Christmas quiz! I donned my best Christmas jumper and we did all the festive fun.
Finishing my Christmas embroidery! FINALLY! I’ve been cracking through this since October with the aim of finishing it by December which obviously didn’t happen. So I took Friday night off from all activities, chucked a couple of films on Netflix and did all of the embroidery. I love the finished piece and it’s now displayed lovingly by my Christmas tree. For my next piece I actually want to try and draw it myself rather than using a kit!
Going to Panto. It’s been yeeeears since I’ve been to panto! Like since I was a kiddy. And it’s been on my list to do ever since I moved back to the UK! So Katy and I headed to see Jack and The Beanstalk at the Putney Arts Theatre. It was full of all the typical panto joy and the kids were SO excited. We topped it off with steak at Roxie so all in all, a very enjoyable Saturday!
Seeing Star Wars! I do love me some star wars, so it was great to go and see the new film. No spoilers here, promise – but it is awesome and so worth a watch!
Wrapping and Christmas films. I’m going all out Christmas with all of the wrapping and Christmas films. It’s the best combination.
Not getting hung up on the stats. Ugh numbers man, it’s been hard for the page views this month and numbers have a habit of getting me down. I’ve been trying to stop thinking about them too much and just enjoy creating a little bit more.
Making flatbreads. I’ve been wanting to learn how to make bread for aaaages. So I’m starting easy with a bit of flat breads – only 3 ingredients and cooked in a pan so simple right?! Well, let’s see, hopefully it will evolve into proper bread making!
